I grew up in a military family. My father served in the United States Marine Corps, and my mother was both a homemaker and a small business owner. They taught me that hard work matters, your word matters, and when your neighbors need help, you show up.
 

For more than twenty years, I worked in information technology, helping people solve problems. Every day, someone came to me because something wasn't working. My job was to listen, understand what was actually happening, and find practical solutions. Looking back, I realize those same skills are exactly what we need more of in government.
 

My family was fortunate to make Vermont our home at the end of 2019. Like many families, ours isn't typical. My husband, James, and I moved here while caring for my former husband and lifelong friend, Keith, who was living with cancer, leukemia, and the genetic condition that led to both. Together with our daughter, Tori, we settled in St. Johnsbury and quickly found a community that welcomed us.
 

For years, I experienced firsthand the challenges of navigating an overburdened healthcare system and the complexities of health insurance. I came to realize that in America, too often being fortunate means being well insured, not simply being well.

Our daughter has the same genetic condition that claimed her father's life in 2024, so I understand how difficult it can be to balance a family budget while making sure the people you love get the care they need.
 

My family chose Vermont because we believed in the values that make this state special. We found those values here in the Northeast Kingdom, where neighbors still help neighbors, people look out for one another, and community is something you experience every day.
 

That's the Vermont I want to protect.
 

Today, James is an electrician of 25 years, Tori works for the State of Vermont helping make healthcare enrollment easier, and I'm still a caretaker at heart.
 

I decided to run because I looked around and realized that if people who care don't step forward, nothing gets better. I don't believe we solve problems by shouting louder than one another. I believe we solve them by listening, working together, and staying focused on the people we were elected to serve.
 

I don't pretend to have every answer.
 

What I can promise is this: I'll listen before I speak. I'll work hard. I'll be honest, even when the answers aren't easy. And I'll remember that every decision made in Montpelier affects someone's family and someone's future.
